Get your slots now for our first summer session!
Click the tab that corresponds to your child's grade level and read the course description to find out what they will be taking part in!
NOTE: At the very end of each course, we will learn how to build our own self-driving car!
This course provides a novice look into the code, create, and innovate aspects of the camp.
CODE:
Sketch coding for beginners
Block-by-block tutorials to engage the students in coding
Will end this area of the camp experience by coding a fun game for all ages to enjoy!
Coding with simple robots
Ozobots, Doodle bots, Amazon Car, Arduino
Coding with FLL robots
Campers will learn how to code simple maneuvers for their FLL robots
This includes: coding the robot to go in different directions and draw shapes!
Will end this area with a fun competition between different groups in the classes to see who can code and drive their robot the fastest
Engages students in healthy competition and sets the foundation for FLL
CREATE:
Experiment with building upon their current knowledge of conceptually building successful robotics designs
Basic fundamental concepts of building a robot
Sample robot designs help guide the building process!
Campers will have the opportunity to work with FLL Lego pieces and build components of a working robot.
'Creative Time': period of time in which classes will foster the ability to make a robot of their own!
A fun competition at the end of the camp will help the campers integrate their building skills with competition
INNOVATE:
FLL Innovation Project brainstorming
Once the new season and map layout are released, the students will engage in a multitude of brainstorming sessions and fun activities to decide their innovation project theme
We will use basic blocks and code to experiment with this project!
I.e. Our national-winning team, PianoFortes, used Python to create their fully functioning piano system; we will use Sketch to do so!
This course provides a comprehensive look into the code, create, and innovate aspects of the camp.
CODE:
Coding with Sketch blocks for intermediates
Block-by-block tutorials to engage the students in the craft of coding
We will end this area of the camp by remaking the code for video games the students enjoy!
Coding with FLL robots
Introduction to the FLL layout, challenges, and what to expect
Sets the foundation for the FLL competition
Students will code the robot to solve simple missions, gearing them towards the FLL mindset!
At the end of this section, campers will engage in a fun and exciting robot tournament!
(Layout for this map coming soon...)
CREATE:
Brainstorm successful building designs and discussing necessary pieces to implement in functional robots
Fundamental concepts of building a robot are enforced
Shared pro tips on how to create a successful design
Structured time to model robots that do sample tasks
Sample robot designs (that we have personally used) help guide the building process!
'Creative Time': period of time in which classes will foster the ability to make and test robotic designs of their own!
Free range time to express creative freedom and build designs (not just robots)
Campers will get the opportunity of unstructured time to collaborate with others on free-builds
INNOVATE:
FLL Innovation Project Building
Now that the kids are of age to start the FLL competition, they will learn and brainstorm about the innovation project
Brainstorming fosters creativity, growth, and critical thinking skills!
Code with basic blocks to code our innovation projects!
Hold seminars to present and share our findings!
I.e. Our national-winning team, PianoFortes, used python to create their fully-functioning piano system; we will use Sketch to do so!
This course provides an in-depth look into the code, create, and innovate aspects of the camp.
CODE:
Quick Sketch Overview
Within the first two classes, students will be comfortable with coding and designing their own comprehensive video game!
Introduce blocks in FLL and how they work in tandem with the robot
The main portion of the classes will be centered around this core theme
Use these blocks to code with sensors, helping the robot to detect obstacles, colors, signals, etc.
Intermediate to advanced FLL robotics training, yet with the same level of support as any other level!
Healthy competitions at the end of the season!
CREATE:
Building new robots with advanced Arduino Kits
Working to foster success and ineptness in building
2. Time spent heavily with hands-on FLL Lego builds
Samples of competition-ready robots will be provided!
Hold engaging conversations on: 'What makes a good robot?'
When FLL's new season comes out, we will operate heavily on preparing successful robot designs for the theme!
3. Healthy & engaging building competitions at the end of the season!
INNOVATE:
Once FLL releases its new season's theme, we will work collaboratively with the students to build ideas for innovation projects
Fosters creativity, learning, critical thinking, and fun within students
Students will engage in respectful, active participation in class, guided by their mentors!
Use advanced resources like Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and coding tools to innovate
Don't worry- your mentors will always be guiding your child through each step to achieve maximum potential!
I.e. our national-winning teams used these AI and Python modules to create their fully-functioning innovation projects PianoGenie, PiezoMatt, and Innovative Crane; we will use simpler features to create new inventions to spark curiosity!
